Bridget is settling in. She arrived Saturday and I was in pretty crazy skull makeup so I may have scared her. She seemed sad all weekend.
My new pendulum arrived Saturday too so I charged it up in Sunday’s full moon with my other crystals.
Bridget has been sleeping in my daughters room and we’ve been talking to her a lot, letting her know what’s going on and that we’re happy she’s here and welcome here.
Today I tried the pendulum for the first time and it REALLY WORKED. I asked her if she was happy and it started swinging lightly to no. I asked her if she liked it here/was happy here and it started swinging strongly to yes. I asked a few other questions and each time it swung for me. It was crazy. I got yes two times in a row so I asked to have it swing to no so I knew it was working and sure enough it swung to no quickly without my moving anything.
I asked for a reading on her in a haunted doll group and they said she seemed sad in her pictures still over something. She was with her previous owner for 6 years so I believe she’s grieving that.
All the family has been around all weekend and we had a party here Saturday and were out at a party yesterday and my oldest (wildest) has off school today. I’m looking forward to chatting more openly with her (and using the pendulum more to learn more) this week when my daughter is at school and my husband is at work.
I did drunkenly admit you my husband that I bought a haunted doll and explained about her more and her background but he doesn’t believe in spirits or anything unscientific. Thankfully he’s just going along with it but I still feel self conscious talking to her around him.
Hopefully some quiet time will help us get to know each other better and hopefully she’ll be happy here. We picked out some fabrics today to make her new clothes.
