Bridget Comes Home

As soon as I saw Bridget, a haunted doll on eBay whose spirit was born in the 50s and sadly passed away in her teens in a mental asylum in Colorado, I knew she was meant to join our family. Bridget came home to us on October 12th, 2019.

I know it sounds really weird to want a haunted doll, but I feel like if anyone should adopt one, it’s me. I love dolls. One of my favorite books growing up is called “When the Dolls Woke” which I’ve read over and over about a family of dolls who come to life when their owner isn’t around and can think really hard when they want to tell her something.

I also always loved American Girl dolls and started restoring and customizing ones in really sad condition a few years ago. I love giving new life and new hope to them and seeing them go to a new loving family. I even make doll clothes on the side as well.

My point is that dolls don’t scare me. I don’t get freaked out by them. I truly love them.

I have a one year old and six year old, both girls and I stay at home with them and do many side hustles. I’m the kind of person who likes to give and make people feel special and loved. So after thinking about it for a while I decided to start looking for a doll inhabited with a *GOOD* spirit that I could show love and attention to and have her be part of our family.

After a few days of looking, Bridget stood out to me. Her eBay seller had all positive reviews except one which she clarified in all listings that was from someone who didn’t give their spirit time to open up.

Bridget’s story struck me. I wanted to show her love and welcome her here and knew my daughter would too.

Long story not so short, Bridget has become part of our family. As I don’t want my religious, non believing family to know and don’t want her or us getting mocked online, I made a Facebook group and this blog for updates for her.
